Writes Richard Moody, EVP – EMEA:
It’s been a busy and successful year renewing some of our key customer contracts. I’m very pleased to say that we have been successful with renewing contracts at AMS, LHR and OSL in the face of some fierce competition. A fantastic achievement and testament to the great service that the teams have been delivering and the trust that our customers, airlines and airports have in us. In this industry trust is everything. Thank you to everyone for your contribution to these achievements.
In April the team exhibited at the annual Passenger Terminal Expo held this year in Frankfurt. The organisers claim that this is the world’s leading airport design and operations show with 300+ leading exhibitors showcasing new products and technologies. I can’t confirm the claim, but it was certainly the biggest and best attended show that we’ve attended in the ~20 years we’ve been exhibiting at PTE. A great opportunity to catch up with many of our existing customers, check out the new technologies and industry trends, and to uncover new opportunities.

Since landing back at MUC in 2022, we’ve been gradually expanding the services we deliver in Terminal 1 for our customer Amadeus. In 2023, we installed new self-service kiosks and bag drops which we’ve been supporting since installation and from July, we are providing a 24×7 service desk for these new devices. The service desk will be a hybrid solution utilising our on-site team at MUC T1 led by Peter Wilhelm, our UK Service Desk led by Nicole Simpson, and our US Service Desk led by James Young. A great example of collaboration and creative thinking to design a robust and cost-effective solution for our customer.
Kudos to Bas Kuhlmann and Alister Albuquerque in particular, along with Sander, Kevin, Heidi and Carl for what has been a long running self service bag drop installation project in Helsinki, Finland. There were many challenges along the way with delayed shipments, project management changes and the usual technical issues but these were all overcome and the customer was delighted with the work they did. If you’re keen to travel and see a bit more of the world, please let your manager know and we’ll bear you in mind for the next project opportunity!
Finally, I’d like to congratulate and thank all of you for your hard work and positive attitudes that continue to keep our customers delighted.
