By Andy Anderson & David Ison, Board Advisors
36 years and 9 months has been a pretty good run at the helm of ServiceTec. It’s been a journey of thousands of flights, meetings, successes and the odd failure. Actually, we have worked together in business for over 40 years so we go way back. And now it’s time to say goodbye with heartfelt thanks to each and every one of you who have made this great adventure possible.
As you can imagine, building an international business has been an immense learning curve but has given us so many wonderful experiences with countries, cultures, cities and especially the people we have engaged with, a true delight.
We leave behind a very capable team leading you all to the next chapter of ServiceTec in what we believe is an exciting future of opportunity for all to participate in.
The process of selling a company like ours is a long and complicated affair, taking into account countries, regions, states and of course lawyers and advisors. On that note, we took special care in selecting the buyer, we wanted a company that shared our ideals, needed everybody to continue in the usual manner, so we avoided a trade sale and looked at over 250 international businesses before settling on Veloce IT, a UK based hybrid private equity family equity house with an experienced team who, as time passes, you will get to hear from.
As we retire, we carry away with us thousands of stories, sadly too many to recount here but memorable all the same. Although we remain Board Advisors for occasional advice, we will be watching from the sidelines with great interest.
Wishing the very best of health, happiness and luck.
With the utmost respect.
