An update from Bryan Mills regarding ServiceTec’s CyberSecurity offering.
ASSURE SUPPORT TEAM
As was reported in the July 2020, the UK, the EU and the USA have all now adopted mandatory cybersecurity standards for aviation. In the UK the Civil Aviation Authority has launched its Assure programme, with assessors to report on the implementation of the programme. We are qualified to be assessors, but have decided that a more long lasting, ServiceTec type of arrangement would be to offer our services to airports (to start with) to help review their current cyber security state, format their evidence to be assessed, recommend necessary improvements, and assist airports in implementing those improvements.
WE HAVE NOW GOT OUR FIRST CONTRACT!
As usual, the name of the customer is confidential at this stage, but it is a small group and work has begun. We also have a couple of serious further prospects, with whom we are discussing Non-Disclosure Agreements. COVID-19 is of course slowing everything down but airports are becoming increasingly aware of the requirement .

COVID-19 PANDEMIC
As I said in our July Newsletter, the pandemic and the necessary changes in working practices that it has created, remain a critical issue for everybody in the ServiceTec Group. I cannot do better than repeat what was said in July.
The COVID-19 pandemic has provided a new “hook” for social engineering by cyber attackers and everybody must be even more on their guard. This is particularly important in the new operating environment created by home working, where inevitably the possibility of confusion between people’s domestic technology and their work stuff has increased. This requires extra watchfulness by everyone. Strict observance of our remote working practices as developed in our ISO 27001 standards has become even more important. Remind yourself of the stuff in the ISO 27001 training material everybody has worked through.
