“Persistence guarantees that results are inevitable” – Paramahansa Yogananda
After many years and numerous attempts to land Vancouver International Airport, I’m pleased to say we finally did it. Following our RFP response submission in the fall of 2024 and a lengthy wait, the good news that ServiceTec was the successful proponent came in mid-March 2025.
The solution accepted was for a 13x person team (1x Service Delivery Manager and 12x Technicians) providing 24×7 onsite support services. The scope of work provides level 1 support for all corporate and terminal systems.
Recruitment activities started in April 2025 in an effort to identify suitable candidates in the Vancouver area. A list of transitional activities had been completed by a number of individuals within ServiceTec during the months of April-May ensuring we were on track with our transition plan and primed to meet the Go Live date of June 1st, 2025. Onsite terminal systems training, led by Daniel Lim, for the new technicians occurred the week of May 26th. Onsite Go live support and continued training occurred the week of June 1st and was led by Kenny Santos.
The feedback on our transition and go live efforts from the YVR Airport Authority was very positive and they immediately noticed the increase in our proactive walkthroughs, focus on service management, and appreciated seeing the team in the ServiceTec uniforms around the terminal building. The team have and continue to maintain a very customer focused service approach and have done a great job in building on-site relationships.

A little about Vancouver Airport:
Vancouver International Airport (YVR) is an international airport located on Sea Island in Richmond, British Columbia, serving the city of Vancouver and the lower mainland region. YVR is the second busiest airport in Canada by passenger traffic. The airport processed over 26M passengers in 2024. The airport sits on the traditional lands of the Musqueam Indian Band. YVR is a hub for Air Canada and WestJet and is one of eight Canadian airports that has US Border pre-clearance facilities. It is also one of the few major international airports to have a terminal for scheduled floatplanes.
