Mo Tawfik (Customer Service Engineer – Emirates South – July 2021)
Mo attended the London Town office in Kensington on Friday evening to shut down the servers and network for a planned general outage for the whole building. He returned on Sunday evening to restore the servers and make sure all systems were available for the start of business on Monday morning. Both these visits should have been a total of 6 hours work. A problem occurred when the electronic door access to the comms room became corrupted and there was no access. On speaking with his Manager on Sunday evening Mo said he was determined to resolve this one way or the other.
Mo worked with Dubai to try and resolve and contacted the door access company who eventually came to site and after drilling a hole to find the release button on the other side of the wall could proceed no further. At this point Mo, with permission from Emirates persuaded the door to open by inflicting a slight bend in the door. The total hours for the weekend turned out to be 11 hours! Needless to say all systems were recovered in time for start of business Monday morning.

As a follow up Mo is working with local management to see if they can introduce some kind of failsafe to prevent this happening in the future.
We would like to thank Mo for his determination to see this problem through to completion, especially as it was a Friday and Sunday evening where normally Mo would not be working. This is over and above his normal duties.
Adam Grant and Bradley Tyrrell (Customer Service Representatives RoW Service Desk - September 2021)
Bradley and Adam both went above and beyond, being very flexible during a time when we had vacancies on the UK Service Desk and were short staffed.
They both worked additional shifts, swapped shifts and rearranged their personal lives to ensure we were able to continue providing support to our customers.
Nicole Simpson (Service Desk Team Leader - RoW Service Desk - November 2021)
Nicole has gone above and beyond by covering absence on the Service Desk.
She has done additional shifts often at short notice, predominantly covering 5 am shifts!
